Kitchen Design FAQs

Thinking about a new kitchen?

Planning a kitchen can bring up lots of questions, from layouts and budgets to the difference between design and fitting. We’ve answered some of the most common ones below to help you feel more confident before you begin.

What is the difference between kitchen design and kitchen fitting?

Kitchen design is the creative planning stage, where we look at layout, storage, style, finishes, worktops, appliances and how the space needs to work for your life. Kitchen fitting is the installation stage, where the design is brought to life.

Do I need a kitchen designer, or just a fitter?

If you already have a complete plan, a fitter may be all you need. But if you want a kitchen that is carefully planned around your home, your routine and your budget, a designer makes all the difference.

Why use a kitchen designer?

A designer looks at the whole picture, not just where cupboards go. We think about how you move through the room, what storage you need, where the light falls, and how the space should feel every day.

Can good kitchen design save money?

Yes. Good design helps you spend your budget wisely. We guide you on where to invest, where to simplify, and how to avoid costly mistakes that can happen when a kitchen has not been properly planned.

Is bespoke kitchen design expensive?

Bespoke does not have to mean out of reach. It simply means the kitchen is designed around you. We work with your budget from the start, helping you create something personal, practical and achievable.

Do you design small kitchens?

Absolutely. Smaller kitchens often benefit the most from thoughtful design. Clever storage, considered layouts and the right finishes can make a compact space feel calmer, brighter and much easier to use.

Can you help with larger open-plan kitchens?

Yes. Open-plan kitchens need careful planning so cooking, dining, relaxing and storage all work together. We help create a layout that feels sociable, balanced and beautifully connected to the rest of your home.

Do you help choose worktops, appliances and finishes?

Yes, we guide you through everything, from cabinetry and worktops to appliances, sinks, taps, lighting, handles, flooring and colour choices. It is all part of creating a kitchen that feels complete.

Will I see the design before making decisions?

Yes. We use design software to help you visualise your kitchen, but the real design comes from listening to you first. The computer helps show the idea, it does not create the idea.

Do you work within a budget?

Always. Budget is part of the conversation from the very beginning. We help you make confident choices so your kitchen feels right for your home, without unnecessary cost.
