Beautiful Stone Surfaces, Crafted Locally
We recently visited one of our favourite local suppliers, Steve Bristow Stone Masonry, to spend time looking through their latest stone ranges, new finishes, and their stunning stone furniture collection too. It was one of those visits that reminds you how important it is to see materials properly, in person, under natural light, with experts on hand who really know their craft.
And we feel very lucky, because they’re right on our doorstep here in Newton Abbot.
Why we choose to work with Steve Bristow
When it comes to worktops and stone surfaces, quality is everything. A worktop isn’t just a finishing touch, it’s one of the hardest-working parts of the kitchen and bathroom, and it needs to stand up to everyday life while still looking beautiful.
Steve Bristow Stone Masonry have been supplying and fitting stone surfaces across the South West for 30 years, as has our relationship! What really stands out is their attention to detail and the level of service behind the scenes. They offer a complete in-house service, including their own templating and fitting teams, which means we can control the process from start to finish, with precision, care, and consistency.
That reliability matters, because it helps our clients feel confident that their project will run smoothly, and that the final finish will be exactly as intended.
Seeing the stone properly makes all the difference
Stone is one of those materials that you can’t truly appreciate from a small sample alone. Veining, movement, depth of colour, finish, it all changes depending on lighting and scale. As part of our design process, we take our clients to view the full slabs at the showroom, which helps you choose with confidence, especially if you’re going for something dramatic, a statement island, a feature splashback or complimentary furniture.
It’s also a brilliant way to compare options side by side, whether you’re deciding between quartz, granite, marble, or sintered stone. Each has its own character and benefits, and seeing them in person makes the decision feel far clearer.

More than worktops, stone used creatively
What we also love is how versatile stone offering is. Yes, worktops are the obvious choice, but stone works beautifully in lots of places across the home, splashbacks, upstands, table tops, wall cladding, feature walls, and even outdoor surfaces.
This gives our clients more creative freedom. If you want a kitchen that feels cohesive and elevated, carrying a surface through from worktop to splashback, or using stone as a statement feature, can make a huge impact.
The furniture collection, a real design statement
During our visit we also explored their stone furniture range, beautifully made pieces that combine luxury materials with clean, contemporary design. Each piece is hand finished in their Devon workshop, and you can really see the craftsmanship in the detailing and finish. It’s a great option if you want something different, a dining table with presence, a bold centrepiece, or furniture that feels truly one of a kind.

A supplier we trust, right here in Devon
We’re proud to work with suppliers who care about quality and service as much as we do. Steve Bristow Stone Masonry is a brilliant example of that, skilled, experienced, local, and always pushing forward with new ranges and beautiful design-led options.
If you’re planning a new kitchen or bathroom and would like help choosing the right stone surface, we’d love to guide you through the options, and we can even arrange a visit so you can see everything properly for yourself.
