August 30, 2023Wow Your Kitchen in White
October 25, 2023With over Thirty years’ experience in bathroom design, the team at Inline Design Studio in Newton Abbot, Devon knows how to be creative when it comes to designing a bathroom where space is limited.
Smart storage and clever colours can make a showstopping small bathroom that is stylish and sophisticated.
Here are a few tips and tricks where our designers have created beautiful bijoux bathrooms…
Bathing
If you need versatility where you need a bath and a shower then consider L or P shaped baths that will allow for a larger shower area.
Add a bit of intrigue by adding a darker shower glass against white/light colours. Alternatively, a transparent glass will give the feel of more space.
Finer Details
'Finer details make a big difference to the look and feel of a small bathroom,'
'The handles on your storage cabinets are not just for function, they are an elevating touch, so should coordinate with the overall look – slim curve D handles for a minimal scheme or traditional knobs for shakers. Reflect light around the room and create a sense of space using illuminated mirrors and reflective surfaces such as gloss cabinets, tiles, or floors.'
Tile Tricks
You can do so much with tiles, from colours, shapes and patterns to create a unique bathroom that not only makes a larger feel but adds your own personality. Our designers take time to find your lifestyle to design a room that is your dream and suits your needs.
Dark and Dramatic
For the brave, a dark grey used throughout a kitchen will create a room that is sophisticated, fascinating and intriguing. If this is your vibe, we strongly recommend using a designer who can establish the exact ambience you want to achieve whilst considering all the factors from room size to budget.
Lighting is incredibly important when being a little daring and ensuring you highlight the focus points of the room as well as offering practicality. This style of kitchen can be updated easily by using accent colours of the moment.
Wet rooms
Wet rooms will always be popular for smaller bathrooms and, if designed correctly, can add value to your home. Think a feature wall with a gold/brass shower and cool colours combined with clean lines and clutter free.
Wall Shelves
False wall shelves are a very simple and effective way to create more storage and hide unwanted pipes, etc from view. Add a bit of art and/or plants to complete your spa vibe.
Mirrors
Mirrors are key in a small bathroom – not only do they reflect the light but, carefully positioned, they can make any room larger than reality. The shape and style of a mirror can make such a difference – frame or no frame? What about lighting?
Lighting
Moving on from mirrors, lighting can be another key focus when designing a tiny bathroom. What do you want to feel when you walk in? If it’s soothing and calm then consider soft lighting, however, that can feel dark if your bathroom has dark units or tiles. Bright lights lift a room; however this can be very harsh, especially first thing in the morning, Or you can have the best of both worlds with the introduction of smart lighting.
This is where our designers come in, they know exactly what you need to create your perfect small bathroom. They will understand your preferences, how your family needs the bathrooms – if you are a morning person or like to unwind after a long day at work. We are here to make sure we create a bathroom unique to you whatever the size and budget.
