July 3, 2023Bespoke Kitchens: Trends for Devon in 2023
August 3, 2023Investing in a beautiful kitchen brings pride to the main room in the home. It is where we spend most of our time and enjoy sharing with our friends and family. In this latest blog we look at ways a traditional style kitchen can stay on trend and be timeless for years to come.
When you design your kitchen, there are several factors to consider, such as, space, layout, ambience and budget. This is where you need a designer to look at the best way to create your dream. With a traditional kitchen, you can focus on the main areas, such as worktops and appliances, then make smaller changes to be on trend for the season.

Open up
Open plan will always be a fantastic option for a larger kitchen, especially if you can expand to the dining or outdoor areas. Space enables flexibility and can create any ambience you want, however, this year, people are considering more ways to hide those day to say items, so talk to your designer about spacing options.
Make it Matte
No matter what the colour, matte is incredibly popular and can be used throughout or in contrast to other finishes. Consider white matte to have a fresh kitchen without a glare and match with bronze, polished nickel or chrome for a more updated look.
Adding small statements mean that you can change these easily in the future, without a huge overhaul, and make the kitchen feel brand new!
Up in Space
Wall units have always been popular mixed with open shelves or glazed feature units adding extra interest, as well as being on trend. The traditional closed style cupboards create a clean and tidy feel maximising the storage space.
Gentle Grey
We know that white kitchens are a popular choice when looking to create a light, bright, space, however, subtle tones of grey can create a more softer, warmer feel. As we've mentioned before, adding chrome or nickel for door handles and taps, can change the whole design. Dove grey is being used more with interior designers, as a base colour, due to it's versatility and contrasted against bolder colours can enhance a specific area of the kitchen.
For the daring designer, think black sinks, appliances and accessories to give a bold and contemporary twist to the traditional.
Wow your Worktops
With so many choices, a worktop can be the statement of your kitchen or blend in with your unit choice. Granite and wood surfaces work well with traditional kitchens and introducing a bold colour on your furniture can create an exciting contrast that is stunning and timeless.
A white worktop mixed with blue cabinets are a beautiful combination that bring a feel of cool, calm and a touch of class to a kitchen. No matter the size of the room, this combination, fits perfectly and can be designed to suit most budgets.
